You have some of your employees in group coverage but other employees opted out!!! Now there is a way for the employees  to have low cost Health Insurance at work.  CDHP, or Consumer Drive Health Plan.  CDHP is a tax advantage for the employer on Payroll taxes FICA at 7.56% and the same savings for the employee for a total of 15.30% total.  On the amount of the Contribution from the employer there is Income Tax savings of 20 to 30% for the employee.  These employees can be insured outside of a group plan.  All employees can elect or volunteer to receive their Health Insurance this way.  The plans usually cost 20% less than group.

Controlling the choice of Copay and deductables for each individual policy is a grea way to control cost.  Each employee can choose a carrier that has the health plan that is tailored just for their needs.  Some employee spouses can elect to “come off” their spouses Group Plan and save a considerable amount in premium. There are many choices that can be made to controll Health Insuance Premiums.  Health Savings Accounts are tax advantaged on the savings, the growth, and the payments out of the accounts.  Another way is the benefit of the High Deductable Plans, if you do not use the deductable it is reduced the next year 20% and every year after until it reaches the base level of $1250. for a individual

Review:

Copay: make choices that benefit you.

Policy Deductable: Make choices that fit your expectations

Individual Policies: avoid cobra, guaranteed renewal, You own your policy, Portable – it goes with you even to another state

Health Savings Account:  A great way to save triple tax and have a savings forever for health care.

New provisions is to continue to insure adult children up to age 26.   Another advantage in individual health plans to insure pre-existing conditions for children of the parents policy.

The Savings are many, the choices are yours and improvements are continually being made.

Starting tomorrow and throughout this week, Medicare beneficiaries across the country should begin receiving copies of a brochure “Medicare and the New Health Reform Law – What it Means for You” in their mailboxes.  The mailing from CMS outlines key provisions of the Affordable Care Act for people with Medicare as well as members of their families.  The mailing is being sent in both English and Spanish.

Because Medicare is a trusted resource for beneficiaries and their family members, the mailing encourages them to log on to www.medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE to get their questions about Medicare or the Affordable Care Act answered and reminds them to be on the alert for possible scams.

The first benefit that many people with Medicare will receive as a result of the passage of the new law is a one-time check for $250, if they enter the Part D donut hole and are not eligible for Medicare Extra Help.  Beginning next year, the Affordable Care Act ensures that Medicare beneficiaries will get free preventive care services like colorectal cancer screening and mammograms, in addition to a free annual wellness visit.   The law also includes new tools to help fight fraud by helping Medicare crack down on criminals who are seeking to scam seniors and steal taxpayer dollars.

The brochures are attached in English & Spanish.

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Many adults are active self health insured and they are also self health insuring their families.  Sound like a good idea??? It seems when you survey their plan thre is no plan, no format, no active participaion.  To properly self health insure, there needs to be screening by medical personnell, a active participation in wellness programs which include exercise, diet and screenings.  Medical health screening will give each one a direcion to go in their self insurance.  There needs to be written charts of weight, diet, exercise and the list goes on.  To begin a proper self health inured program, you must have a professional plan.  The most important  aspec is following the plan for all family members. A progress report over a year and over the years for the rest of your life is the ultimate test for assured performance.

Funding the trips to the doctor and hospital is a important element to the self health insurance.  There is two things that are certain:  You will have a medical event, either by accident or illness, that is a fact! Many individual will incure on going medical conditions, ie: Blood pressure, arthritis, diabeetes, and the list goes on.  Other individual will experience disability from being able to work from illness or accident. Many stroke patients for example find themselves in this situation. The list of illness or disease for disability are in the hundreds.  Sudden death at any age usually cures all the problems of financial funding and terminates the management of self helath plans.

The good news:  The new and improved health plans that emulate what the National Health Insurance Initative is available in large part now. Consumer Driven Health Plans,(CDHP), is the name of these plans.  Health plans that are tailored to your specific needs.  Health Savings Plans (HSA). HSA’s offer tax free contributions, tax free withdrawls, and tax free growth (interest). What more could you ask for.  HSA’s along with CDHP can improve your health, prolong your life, and give quality to your life style.

Co-pay is a discount on medical services, Deductables are a stop gap on how much money you will pay for a medical event. Wellness and screening features in your CDHP is a way to divert large medical problems.

The best way to approach life now days is to seek good advise and let the professionals guide you in the direction that is best for your individual health.  Keep the politics out and don’t listen to guru’s who have magic solution for your ailments. Cost Cutting In Health Insurance!!!

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Ok here are the results of a survey that AARP conducted:  Top Five Reasons seniors avoid preventative Care. 1. Cost too much 28% 2. They can’t afford co-pays or deductables 22% 3.Not sure their insurance covers screenings 21%  4. Health screenings are not that importnat  21% 5. They do not have health insurance 30%.  The end results are that there is a signifanct lack of knowledge! These percentages are not only for seniors, the percentages are higher in the 64 to 40 age group. Same lack of knowledge.

The Health Plans that I partner with all have preventative and wellness features.  A co-pay is really a discount to a doctors office visit.  $35. your pay for a doctors office visit and it may cost $75. or more.  Visits to the doctors office for screening and annual check up is also a preventative and maintenance, it keep you healthy…that way you spend more quality time and less money on medicine and doctors and hospitals.  Deductables are there for the small things.  If you dont take care of the every year medical check up, you will pay the deductable and the quality of your life wll go down…

Where do you get good information to know what your health plan covers? Ask the professionals.  Call and ask AZ Insurance Advisors (480-772-2998) this is what we do.  Dont leave health care benefits and money on the table every year. The use of a benefit is equal to $ dollars well spent often free of charge. Benefits – Co-pay- wellness screening- in network discounts- quality of life are all in the same bucket. It is just how you use them.

Medicare and Medicare gap or supplemental coverage all have wellness and screening free benefits every year, use of these benefits will equal to you saving your money and time at the doctors office.

The new plans are being developed now for the National Health Plans that are being developed and provided to the public now.  Let us show you how everything is working together…To your good health
